  1. Peel off the paper and clean the cans. The glue can be a little tricky to get off. They would have been prettier if I had removed it better, but when I’m making these again I’m definitely using some sandpaper to get the last bits off.

  2. Pour in some water and put them in the freezer overnight.

  3. Print out a stencil. You can easily find motives on a simple google search, or download the template that I’ve used.

  4. Cut the template to size and tape it onto the can.
    Canlights4
  5. Make evenly spaced holes throughout the design with a nail and hammer. It can be a little noisy with the hammering, but I made the last one on the carpet and there was pretty much no noise at all, so definitely encourage that :)
    Canlights5
  6. Run the can under hot water to melt the ice and dry them with a towel.
    Canlights6
  7. Spray them with a light coat of spray paint in your preferred color.

  8. Light them up and enjoy :D

Summer Strawberry Slushie

Summer Strawberry Slushie

Here’s a super quick and easy summer drink, perfect for a hot day. I really hope you try this summer strawberry slushie, it’s so delicious and fast to make. Use the leftovers to make some delicious ice popsicles as well. They will stay good in the freezer for months, though I know I’ve eaten all of mine already :D

1 ¼ cups cleaned strawberries (250 g)

½ lemon

1 cup ice cubes/crushed ice (150 g)

Optional: sugar (I used about 2 tablespoons)

Blend it all together in a food processor/blender and you have a wonderful summer drink that everybody will love ^_^

Original recipe: http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/fruit-recipes/strawberry-slushie/
(I did not follow the exact measurements of this recipe though, for me it turned out really thin and watery. So instead of adding water, I added more ice cubes)
